Face-to-face with his own kind for the first time in years

After Ruben’s long journey home from Armenia to Africa, the hold-up at the airport, and facing a night in quarantine at Dr Peter Caldwell’s Old Chapel Veterinary Clinic, his day ended with a magical moment as he came face-to-face with Easy, a lioness from the ADI Wildlife Sanctuary who is also currently at the Old Chapel clinic.

Easy caught Ruben’s eye as he sat in his travel crate. When Ruben was released from his crate, he walked down the tunnel and into his room. He nested there for a while, occasionally leaning to look out at Easy. Then with a tiny roar he walked to the end of his tunnel, and Easy did the same. They sat watching each other. Nikki from Old Chapel then hand-fed Ruben with tongs. He took the food so gently. What must be going through his mind?

Please show your love for Ruben. Any amount you can give will help him get the best start in his new life at the ADI Wildlife Sanctuary.
