It’s veterinary day at the ADI Wildlife Sanctuary with Dr. Peter Caldwell and Prof. Gerhard Steenkamp as the tigers get health checks and any dental work needed.
Moon, who was rescued by ADI from a circus in Guatemala in 2018, is the first resident to be seen.
Prof. Gerhard Steenkamp checks her teeth and gives them a clean. He will take a radiograph of one tooth which may need some work. Moon is also given an overall health check from Dr. Peter Caldwell, including being weighed, blood samples taken.
Having received her dental and health check Moon is taken to the night house of her habitat to recover.
Sun is next to receive a dental and health check. She is weighed and is a little heavier than her sister Moon. Her teeth are looking good with little wear.
