Ruben’s catnip madness

You can see Ruben still loves his catnip treats! Ruben was rescued from years of isolation and confinement in a private zoo in Armenia. He arrived at the ADI Wildlife in August with difficulties walking and keeping his balance. Every day, the ADI Wildlife Sanctuary Team give him different forms of enrichment to keep him engaged, moving and having fun. And he is loving his physiotherapy!

His favorites are the large Kunduchi Pet Products catnip bags and giant punchbags – he’s just exploded another here. He also gets boxes and hessian sacks made up for him with teff grass inside mixed with different scents including catnip (of course), lavender, and donkey and antelope droppings! He has a giant ball and a tire, and he gets melons and pumpkins (we hope you will consider supporting pumpkins for all our residents this Halloween).

This enrichment is important for all the big cats because it provides mental and physical stimulation. It is especially important for Ruben because it provides physiotherapy and we have all seen improvements in his mobility.
