BenTzur and Ori’s incredible journey and their first steps on African soil at the ADI Wildlife Sanctuary.

Seized by Israel’s Nature and Parks Authority during a crackdown on wildlife trafficking – they were being used as trophy pets (fashion accessories and status symbols) – the move to a new life was derailed by the war, but this week they came home. With limited cargo flights out of Tel Aviv, the ADI team made a 50 hour journey with the lions via Egypt and Germany to South Africa.
