Last night, Kimba arrived back at the ADI Wildlife Sanctuary after a stay at Old Chapel Veterinary Clinic.  He was quietly moved into one of the rooms in the house he shares with Tomas, who was in the next room. 

The boys slept next to each other and this morning each received their medications before being let into the feeding camp for a glorious reunion, rolling about and head rubbing.  They then went out into the main habitat, walking up to the other end, together, bumping heads and rubbing, clearly very happy to be back together. 

The boys were born in a circus in Guatemala but separated when Tomas was sent to a zoo. When Guatemala banned animal circuses, ADI rescued Kimba and then two months later, the zoo surrendered Tomas.  The boys were reunited and have rarely been apart since.

We are still awaiting the results of Kimba’s tests conducted on his right eye, spinal x-rays, and biopsies, but from initial assessment there appears to be nothing too concerning, although he will continue to be closely monitored by the ADIWS Resident Welfare Team.
