Saif is looking well and enjoying Sunday with Dhubiya after being sedated for a battery of tests by Dr Peter Caldwell at the ADI Wildlife Sanctuary last week.

The young lion was a tiny cub when he was abandoned in the desert outside Kuwait City by a callous owner who no longer wanted him. He was cared for in Kuwait Zoo after he was found, and brought to ADIWS in May along with five other young lions from the illegal ‘trophy’ pet trade, including Dhubiya. Saif is growing fast and looks like he is growing a huge, dark mane!

Tarzan, Chino and Muheeb who were also sedated for checks are all fully recovered.
