Iron work!

You did it – the partitions in Iron’s house at the ADI Wildlife Sanctuary are underway!

The plastering inside Iron’s house – which will enable him to be introduced to a new companion, after the loss of his friend OJ – is drying, and the plastering of the outside is almost complete. This will protect the brickwork, increasing the life of the building and once it is painted, it will make cleaning easier and improve hygiene. The metal frames for the partitions are being cut and welded.

There will be three rooms and any lions being introduced will be able to have protected contact through the drop doors connecting them. We will be able to feed them alongside each other and monitor from a protected corridor with doors into each room. The rooms will also be bedrooms for the lions to wander in and out of at will, and for hospitalization and observation if needed.

We hope that Bolillo, who was from the same circus in Colombia as Iron, can be re-united with Iron, giving him a new companion.

THANK YOU to everyone who has helped get this work underway. We still need to raise funds for the partitions in at least one of the tiger houses, so we hope that you can continue to support this.

Every donation helps give our lions and tigers the lives they deserve.
