Tomas and Kimba back together! Tomas returned to the ADI Wildlife Sanctuary yesterday after major surgery by Dr Peter Caldwell at Old Chapel Veterinary Clinic. After spending the night in separate rooms in their house, although able to make contact through the mesh, the boys were properly reunited today.

Tomas is back at the ADI Wildlife Sanctuary following major surgery at Old Chapel Veterinary Clinic.
Part of Tomas’ gut had become wrapped around itself and his health deteriorated rapidly. Dr Peter Caldwell removed part of his bowel and Tomas has been recovering in hospital for more than a week.

As Goliath and Coralie’s arrival was being watched around the world, ADI Wildlife Sanctuary was pleased to welcome a new resident, a peacock we named Bob. He had been found in an abandoned house and the SPCA asked if we could provide him with a home for life. Of course, we said yes!
Bob was very excited when we released him into the feeding camp of Antonia Habitat to join some of our rescued chickens.

Send your love to Tomas, who has just undergone major surgery. Dr Peter Caldwell has operated on Tomas to address an intestinal intussusception, where two parts of the intestine had become looped around each other, causing a blockage, and cutting off blood supply. Dr Caldwell removed 15cm/6 inches of colon (large intestine) and sewed it up.
