Important day for lion cub rescue

It’s planning, meetings and coordination that gets animals moved safely.

Today has been intense for ADI’s Jan and Tim, who arrived in Israel last night and met with Adva and Ben of the Nature & Parks Authority (NPA) today to discuss relocation of lions Ori and Ben Tzur to the ADI Wildlife Sanctuary.

The cubs had been kept illegally as pets and were seized ten months ago by the NPA. They have grown a lot in that time, so the original travel crates are now too small! So, replacing the crates will be a priority and NPA and ADI are working on the fastest solution, which will be either building in Israel, or shipping two ADI crates to them. The good news is that the zoo where they have been cared for since the rescue have been doing crate training with them, so they are relaxed about going into crates.

We are getting flight options, and hope to move them in a few weeks.
