Out and about with Elsa and Lei-ah

It’s less than two weeks since the devastating wildfire ripped through Panthera Africa Big Cat Sanctuary and the emergency evacuation of white lions Elsa and Lei-ah to the ADI Wildlife Sanctuary.

After arriving very shaken from the frightening experience, the lions have settled in and are now very relaxed.

This week, it was time the girls to explore their main habitat and we were delighted to be joined by Lizaene and Taryn from Panthera Africa Big Cat Sanctuary.

Elsa was the boldest, checking out most of the habitat, even climbing on to the main platform to see the views, while Lei-ah came out to sit with Johannes and Taryn.

Since then, the girls have been wandering in and out as they please, steadily gaining in confidence.

Elsa and Lei-ah will be VIP guests at the ADI Wildlife Sanctuary for as long as it takes for Panthera Africa Big Cat Sanctuary to rebuild. To help support our Facebook fundraiser https://www.facebook.com/donate/1165746448882219/

ADI has also been working intensely to make new arrangements for two lions from Israel to come to ADIWS, which had been destined for Panthera Africa this month. We hope to provide an update on next week.
