Lei-ah and Elsa are on their way!

9-year-old female white lions, Lei-ah and Elsa have started their 15-hour road trip from Panthera Africa Big Cat Sanctuary, Western Cape to ADI Wildlife Sanctuary (ADIWS), Free State after being sedated and given a thorough health check by Dr Peter Caldwell. This week, Panthera Africa Big Cat Sanctuary was devastated by a wildfire and fires continue to flare up. The two lions will remain at ADIWS until reconstruction is completed.

At ADIWS, they will live in the 2.5-acre Stephi Quarantine Habitat, with brick houses, outdoor platforms and dens, trees, local wildlife around them, and space to explore as they continue to be monitored for any after-effects of the fire. ADIWS is covering their transport, food, veterinary and other care needs while they remain with us.

All at ADIWS send their best wishes to the Panthera team and hope to see them come through this traumatic experience as soon as possible.

We did not hesitate to offer aid in this emergency, so please see our appeal to help cover the transport and ongoing care costs for these important, unexpected guests, so that this does not impact our other rescue plans. Facebook fundraiser https://www.facebook.com/donate/1165746448882219/
