In addition to our larger residents, the ADI Wildlife Sanctuary is home to a menagerie of other animals, of all sizes, who are just as much part of the family.

This week it was the turn of Tulip, our resident turkey, to receive the attention of Dr Caldwell, after she started limping and had less interest in her food.

She was given a thorough check up and appears to have a slightly swollen leg which could be causing her pain. She has been prescribed pain medication and anti-inflammatories, along with some bed rest.

Tulip is now of quite an age but contently spends her day strolling around the Chris Lee garden, accompanied by Bruce, Harriot and Rose, her chicken friends.
