Coralie and Goliath – This is the moment when we all know our rescued lions are REALLY home. They blend perfectly into the long golden grass at the ADI Wildlife Sanctuary in South Africa, because this is the world they were meant for.
Rescued French circus lions Goliath and Coralie arrived two weeks ago, and now, after a slight delay for extra veterinary checks and for Coralie’s paw to heal, they have been out in the main 2.5 acre, Siddhi Quarantine Habitat.
They explored the new space and are relaxed and quietly watching the world go by, with particular interest in the youngsters opposite, female Dhubiya and male, Saif (rescued from Kuwait’s illegal wildlife pet trade).
Thanks to France’s ban on wild animals in circuses, after 2028 you will never again see animals like this caged on trucks to amuse people.
Special thanks for their roles in Coralie and Goliath’s rescue to Qatar Airways Cargo for donating the flight, to Tonga Terre d’Accueil for caring for them in France while waiting for their forever home, and to Free Life for their investigation to get them out of the circus.
