The girls are back in town!

Guatemala tiger ladies Lupe and Luna are home at the ADI Wildlife Sanctuary after returning from hospital.

Aunt Lupe had been in hospital for over a week and was greeted with a “Welcome Home” box filled with catnip, which she clearly enjoyed. Sun and Moon came to the fence to greet her, they walked together along the fence for a while then Lupe settled in her water trough for a nice, lazy soak.

Lupe has been under observation for an ulcerated cataract and, at this stage, Dr Caldwell feels there is no need for surgery – we are all very relieved she has not lost her eye. Meanwhile, Luna had dentistry today with Prof. Steenkamp and Dr Caldwell, including root canal, a damaged tooth was smoothed, and her teeth cleaned. She is still groggy from the sedation, but looks pleased to be back, and tomorrow will rejoin sisters Sun and Moon.

Thank you to everyone supporting our tiger family and following their progress today – we are all pleased and relieved to have them home.
