
Roosevelt is fully recovered, enjoying ear scratches and his food as usual after a veterinary visit to trim his nails/hooves.
Dr JW Eksteen lightly sedated Roosevelt for the procedure then brought him around. Roosevelt and Churchill are two rescued pot-bellied pigs enjoying their freedom at the ADI Wildlife Sanctuary. Best known for rescued lions and tigers (many from circuses), ADIWS is also home to rescued goats, sheep, horses, donkeys, antelope, pigs, chickens, ducks and geese.
World Pig Day is coming up on March 1, a chance to reflect on these amazing, intelligent animals, and the shameful way they are often treated by humans.
