Dr Peter Caldwell and his team have been at the sanctuary all day checking our residents and giving vaccinations, some eye and teeth checks, and of course, seeing how Muheeb is doing.

Dr Caldwell was very pleased with Muheeb’s energy and appearance, and we discussed how best to care for him.

Elderly Simba’s osteoarthritis is progressing and our focus is on keeping him pain free.

There are always many health challenges with dealing with animals that have been rescued from abusive situations and many of our residents are getting older now – the huge rescue in Peru emptying the circus cages was over ten years ago!

Dr Caldwell is planning treatments and follow ups.
