We are delighted that ADI has taken the giant step of converting our sanctuary to green energy as we work to fight climate change and to provide energy security for the rescued animals in our care.
Almost 100 solar panels are powering all of the ADIWS operational areas, such as food preparation areas, offices, staff living quarters, freezers and more. Independent solar panels and energisers already power our lion and tiger habitat fences, motorized gates, security cameras etc.
Climate change is the single greatest threat to the planet and the survival of many species, and is driven by the use of fossil fuels like oil and coal. Governments need to act but we can all commit as individuals and organisations too. ADIWS is taking a stand for our future. When the Jean Warner Sprague Education Center opens at the sanctuary next year, we will be able to educate schoolchildren about protecting animals and the environment and showcase what we are doing here in the heart of Africa.
Please show your support for our green energy initiatives and water recycling and conservation projects with a small donation today – just the cost of a cup of coffee, £5 / $5, would help make all the difference. Donate US $ | Donate UK £
